1. VILLA D’ESTE, TIVOLI, ITALY
The Renaissance Villa d’Este was built in the 1550s for Cardinal Ippolito d’Este, the son of Lucretia Borgia.The palace has lavish reception rooms. However, the main attraction in the palace is not only the palace itself, but the “Fountain of the Dragons”, “Hundred Fountains” and the one at the center is the gigantic Water Organ Fountain that flows down into the shady pools seen in the picture below.
