14. Versailles Gardens, France

The Versailles Gardens was designed by 17th century France’s most famous architect, Andre Le Notre. The construction of the garden began in 1661 under the order of King Louis XIV, the Sun King. The Versailles gardens was a labyrinth of paths, flower beds, statues, ornamental lakes and even a canal where the king used to ride a gondola. Its main attractions are the Orangery, the water fountains and the canal. It is also the most famous garden in the world.
