Upcoming Movies to watch out for in 2015

2015 is just starting out and we still have a lot more in store for each of us for the rest of the year. It looks like this year’s films are coming out strong, with major titles and sequels to be released that everyone has been dying to watch. We’ve got a brand-new Star Wars film coming out in December, Avengers around May, and Jurassic World a month after that!

If you still don’t have any clue about the upcoming movies this year, here’s a few of them so that you won’t miss watching any gems during this year’s movie releases!

Furious 7 (April 3, 2015)

Supposedly to be released last year 2014, the tragic passing of Paul Walker on November 30, 2013, put everything to a complete stop. Filming was delayed for script re-writes since when the actor passed away, the entire movie was only half completed. His brothers, Caleb and Cody, were called in as stand-ins to finish the rest of the scenes for the film.

Now the movie will stand as tribute to the greatly missed actor, Paul Walker, as this is his final appearance on film alongside the rest of the gang of the franchise.

Avengers: Age of Ultron (May 1, 2015)

This movie has, in my opinion, the most potential to probably be the biggest film for 2015. If the trailer featuring Iron Man and the Hulkbuster Armor hasn’t sent you screaming around the room in a nerdy high, I don’t know what will!

Age of Ultron takes place after the events in which S.H.I.E.L.D is gone, and the members of the Avengers felt like they needed a break from everything. Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program called “Ultron”. However, things didn’t go according to plan and Ultron ultimately decides that humans are the main enemy and sets out to eliminate every single human on Earth. Looks like we’ll get to see more of the Avenger’s team in action, hopefully with a bit more Hawkeye and of course, that epic Hulkbuster armor brought out of Tony’s arsenal!

Jurassic World (June 12, 2015)

Essentially trying to bring back and build on the foundations that this proven classic has built, Jurassic World brings us back to the island from the first move, Isla Nubar, where a successful theme park filled with dinosaurs now exist. Now who wouldn’t be excited to go and see real, live dinosaurs?! Well the answer’s probably almost everyone who’s already seen one, as the park’s attendance has been decreasing because everything stays the same and lack of new attractions.

This leads the park’s geneticists to take a bold move and create a genetically modified hybrid dinosaur which they dub “Indominus Rex”. That in itself, should basically have screamed trouble all over, and as expected, the hybrid gets loose and runs around on a massive killing spree. June is less than 2 months away, and I’m sure fans both old and new will be dying as this baby cracks out of its shell on its release date.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (November 20, 2015)

With the first part of Mockingjay already over, it’s about to come to the finale of the films and the last time we’ll get to see the Girl on Fire leading the charge against the Capitol. We have witnessed Jennifer Lawrence character, Katniss Everdeen, evolve from a loving sister who took her sibling’s place as a tribute of the games, into an icon for the resistance, a leader for the rebellion, the symbolic Mockingjay.

The film’s release is less than a year away, but everyone is excited to see the grand finale of The Hunger Games… or at least see Jennifer Lawrence in a tight suit shooting arrows. So in reference to the first part of Mockingjay, are you coming to the tree?

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (December 18, 2015)

You can’t call yourself a self-respecting geek if you’ve never heard of Star Wars! Ever since Disney bought the franchise, almost everyone knew it was just a matter of time before we get another chance to visit this galaxy, far, far away. Star Wars is months away yet the hype is as high as ever, Disney is taking a huge risk tackling ground that has been built solid by the previous films and is one of the most famous symbols for the Sci-Fi genre.

The world is tingling with excitement as we are again about to delve into a world filled with lightsabers, X-Wing fighters and force lightning. Of course, there will always be that feeling of nostalgia and sadness since we probably won’t be able to see the original cast as the main characters anymore, but there’s always that part inside of me hoping to see Chewy and Han again especially since they showed the Millenium Falcon in the first trailer they released! May the force be with us as we await the 18th of December.
