SUTHERLAND FALLS
Sutherland Falls is the tallest and mightiest falls in New Zealand with 580 meters vertically, and 480 meters horizontally. It is named after Donald Sutherland who first discovered it in 1880. Hikers can definitely hike to the falls in one day, but it would be better to stay overnight. Air Vistas are also available with many scenic flight services in the area. When visiting South Island of New Zealand, Sutherland falls should be at the top of your waterfalls’ list.
