THORNCROWN CHAPEL, EUREKA SPRINGS, AR, USA
The Thorncrown Chapel is a chapel located near Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It was built in 1980 by Architect E. Fay Jones. Its architectural style is already modern and popularized by Frank Lloyd Wright. The chapel was commissioned by Jim Reed, a retired school teacher. They used materials no bigger than what two people could carry. Though it looks like an open-air structure, the chapel is actually a glass-enclosed, conditioned space. They just enlarged the skylight to have a natural ornamentation lighting effect throughout the chapel.
