9. The Clay Tablets of Mesopotamia
One of the well-known stories was written on clay tablets just like The Epic of Gilgamesh, the oldest written story on earth. It is believed to extend over 3,000 year period and written in several languages. Clay tablets are made from earth and water, inscribed while wet with stick-like stylus then sunbaked to preserve the markings. Tablets are made with various sizes and shapes, cone-shaped, drum- shaped and flat.
