Lake Hillier – Australia
The Lake Hillier will capture your eyes by its pink color. It lies just next to the Pacific Ocean. The color of the lake is suspected to have presence of Dunaleilla salina microalgae. The Dunaleilla produces carotenoids, a pigment found in carrots as well. The Hillier Lake was first discovered in 1802 by Navigator and cartographer Mathew Flinders who took samples from the lake and mentioned its existence in his journal.
