3. Spring clean. There are things in your house that may just be gathering dust and you don’t even know it. Go through your closets, shoe racks, kitchen, living room, or your kids’ playroom (if you have children) and gather all the items that are still useful but you won’t be needing in your next destination. Sort all these and have a garage sale, other people might still find a use for them. The cash you get from your sales then goes in addition to your moving fund. Or you may also opt to donate them to a local charity you have in your community. Whichever choice you take will benefit you as it lessens your bulk of things when moving.
