Ascaris Lumbricoides
Some worms can’t be tiny and deadly but often it can be large and deadly. The Ascaris Lumbricoides is a giant roundworm that can grow up to 35 centimeters in length. It is known as the largest and common parasitic worm in humans. It is responsible for the disease ascariasis. The worst thing about this infection is that it has no symptoms when the worm is still small inside your body but when it grows, the symptoms begin to show such as fever and shortness of breath. Eventually the symptoms can become abdominal pain, swelling and diarrhea. Often times, children are the ones who are commonly affected by it which can result to poor weight gain, malnutrition and learning process.
